Hello and welcome! I’m Marla, owner and teacher at Happy Hands Piano Academy, where I offer online beginner piano and theory lessons to students of all ages. With over a decade of teaching both online and in-studio, I’ve had the joy of helping countless students take their first steps into the world of music.

I’m especially passionate about working with beginners and helping them build confidence, technique, and an understanding of music in a way that’s both structured and engaging.

From the very first lesson, I focus on developing proper technique, rhythm, and music reading skills in a patient and supportive environment.

My teaching style is flexible and tailored to each student’s unique learning pace and personality. I incorporate a variety of tools—like ear training, music theory, and creative activities—to keep lessons comprehensive and enjoyable. I know that every student learns differently, so I adapt my lessons to meet their needs, whether they prefer a methodical, step-by-step process or a more interactive, hands-on experience.

Ultimately, my goal is to spark curiosity, build confidence, and nurture a lifelong love of music. I want my students to feel proud of their progress and excited to play the piano—not just during lessons, but for years to come. I truly believe the skills they develop through music—discipline, patience, creativity—can enrich their lives far beyond the keyboard.
